The journey so far….

For more than 40 years I have been fortunate to make a life and career in the arts.

My journey has taken me through dance, theatre, photography, visual arts and arts management. I am now entering a new chapter with painting at the centre of my creative practice.

I am interested in simplifying forms, exploring colour and negative space, and using expressive mark-making to create paintings that sit somewhere between observation and interpretation.

My approach to painting is experimental and process-led. I am interested in what happens when familiar subjects are reduced, reworked or reconstructed through different materials, surfaces, scale and mark-making. While botanical painting is currently a strong focus, I am allowing my work to evolve through experimentation rather than defining it too early.

Photography has been an important part of my creative practice for more than 30 years, particularly in capturing movement, gesture and human connection.

My background in dance and choreography continues to influence the way I think about composition, rhythm, space and the power of a held moment.

Based in regional Victoria, I continue to develop my painting practice alongside my work in arts administration, directing, choreography and teaching.
